Teen killed in SoHo

 


The tragic shooting of a 16-year-old boy in SoHo on Tuesday has left the community in Brooklyn devastated and filled with sorrow. A candlelit memorial stands in the breezeway of the Rutland Road Houses in East Flatbush, paying tribute to a young life tragically taken by gunfire. Makhi Brown, who was commonly referred to as "Kai" by his friends and neighbors, tragically passed away on Tuesday near a school in SoHo. He lost his life when an unidentified teenager shot him in the head and quickly escaped on a Citi Bike. Ramel Williams, the neighbor, informed reporters that he played a significant role in the upbringing of the talented 16-year-old who showcased exceptional skills on the basketball court. "He loved everybody. He's passionate. He has a good heart and that's what you need in life -- a good heart. He wasn't one of those hard head, fancy kids," Williams said. Investigators reported that on Tuesday afternoon, a group of boys intervened to stop a fight between two groups of girls in a walkway linking Spring Street and Dominick Street. Tragically, the altercation ended in gunfire, resulting in the death of a teenager from Flatbush. The investigation into Brown's murderer remains ongoing; however, in Brooklyn, a close-knit group of friends and neighbors rallied together to provide solace to a sorrowful woman who tragically lost her sole son mere days prior to Mother's Day.

Suspect sought behind robberies in Manhatten and Bronx


The identical individual is under suspicion for committing robberies at establishments in Manhattan and the Bronx. The suspect reportedly entered a business located on Boston Road in Eastchester on the afternoon of April 16, informing the store employee that he was in possession of a firearm and requesting money, as per the NYPD. The employee managed to escape unharmed, while the suspect failed to obtain any belongings.The following day, authorities reported that the identical person entered a establishment on 9th Avenue in Hudson Yards and likewise informed the staff member that he possessed a weapon and requested money.There were no reported injuries, however, the man managed to escape with $150.  The individual in question is reported to have a height of approximately six feet, a weight of around 250 pounds, and a light complexion.

The relatives of a lady who was brutally assaulted and subsequently robbed outside a church in Queens during the weekend shared their account of the terrifying incident with reporters, while law enforcement authorities continue their search for the perpetrator. Every Sunday, the 68-year-old mother of two makes her way to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Jamaica Hills to attend service. Daniel Coffaro, a trusted family acquaintance, regards the woman as an aunt, and informed reporters  that Irene is a compassionate and gentle individual. Coffaro reports that Irene is currently hospitalized with a fractured skull and a black eye, however, she remains in a stable condition within the intensive care unit. After the attack, the perpetrator seized Irene's handbag containing her vehicle keys and mobile phone. The perpetrator ultimately took the victim's 2006 Nissan Altima, which was found by the police the following night on Tuesday, around 3.5 miles from the church. The perpetrator remains at large; however, law enforcement has obtained a fingerprint from the vehicle, leading them to believe they have a strong lead on the individual they are seeking.
