Authorities are actively seeking the individual responsible for stabbing
two individuals at a laundromat in the Bronx, resulting in one
fatality. The assailant was observed entering the 303 Laundromat at 2:42
a.m. on Thursday in the Claremont area while carrying shirts. Upon entering, he attacked two individuals with a knife and fled south
along College Avenue. A 47-year-old victim sustained a stab wound to the
back and was transported to Lincoln Hospital, where he is reported to
be in stable condition. Another victim suffered multiple stab wounds to
the legs, torso, and back and was declared deceased at Lincoln Hospital.
The 47-year-old victim informed law enforcement that he is without a
permanent residence and was resting inside the laundromat alongside a
friend at the time of the stabbing, according to sources.
Authorities discovered two meat cleavers on the steps outside the
laundromat several hours following the incident.
Patrons suggested that increased supervision at the 24-hour
establishment could prove advantageous.
A customer remarked, "The proprietors are absent; only the staff are
present."
This situation heightened the apprehensions that local residents had
previously expressed.
"As a woman, I do not feel secure doing laundry for my children or
myself during the night. There are numerous individuals engaging in drug
use, lying down, and in compromising positions. Such sights are
unwelcome. It occurs right inside, at the corner, and in various
locations," stated a patron of the laundromat.
The relationship between the suspect and the victims remains uncertain.
Law enforcement continues to pursue leads to locate the suspect.
The suspect is characterized as being in his thirties, standing 5 feet 8
inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and was last seen
wearing a green and black shirt, black trousers, and a black and white
cap.
