The NYPD announced that three individuals suspected of being involved in the homicide of a man on a subway train in the Bronx last week have been apprehended and formally accused. Justin Herde, aged 24, Betty Cotto, aged 38, and Alfredo Trinidad, aged 42, have been charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon. The authorities apprehended the suspects on Monday, shortly before noon, at an apartment in the Bronx. The authorities suspect that the group of three individuals committed a fatal assault on William Alvarez, aged 45, on Friday shortly after 5 a.m. aboard a southbound D train, within the Fordham Heights area. The incident occurred as the train was approaching the 182-183 Streets station. Upon nearing the stop, law enforcement reported that one of the individuals sat beside Alvarez and engaged in a verbal altercation. Subsequently, the conflict escalated into a physical altercation, with two additional individuals becoming involved. Tragically, during the altercation, a firearm was discharged, resulting in the death of Alvarez. Upon the train's arrival at the station, the suspects hastily fled, as stated by the police. Alvarez was swiftly transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where his unfortunate demise was officially declared.
