Sunbathing women sexually assaulted by suspect in central park

According to police sources cited by ABC News, a man currently in NYPD custody for a forcible touching incident is believed to be the individual who assaulted a woman while she was sunbathing in Central Park last month. Jermaine Longmire, aged 42, has yet to be formally charged in connection with the sexual assault that occurred on June 24; however, sources indicate that DNA evidence connects him to the crime.

A sexual assault that occurred in Central Park has led to a manhunt for the perpetrator, whom law enforcement officials report assaulted a sunbather in the Great Hill area of the park, located near 104th Street, during the afternoon hours.

Longmire is currently detained at Rikers Island following charges of inappropriately touching a 27-year-old woman on a southbound A train platform located on the Upper West Side on June 15. In this incident, he is alleged to have approached the victim from behind and placed his hand beneath her dress.

Authorities report that he has been arrested five times previously in New York City, in addition to having prior arrests in Florida, which include charges related to sexual offenses. No charges have yet been brought against him in connection with the Central Park incident, which is anticipated to be presented to a grand jury.
